SPEAKOUTU MENTAL HEALTH program
Young people have experienced a number of pandemic-related consequences, such as closures of schools, universities and loss of income that have contributed to poor mental health. However, mental health is the least prioritized amongst health conditions in Uganda. The available services are also too expensive for young people to afford. Under speakoutu program, Inspire Youth For Development (IYFD) is providing free, convenient and anonymous counselling services to young people using chat and email. Young people are also able to access information on wide range of mental health conditions like anxiety and depression. The program aims to provide mental health services to 1,500,000 young people below 30 years in five years.

Information on mental health conditions

Integrated community-based youth service hubs
Our ICYSH act as one stop centers where young people walk in and receive services on mental health and sexual reproduction health. The hubs are led by trained volunteers. They help in early detection of mental health conditions among young people.
We engage young people through different creative arts like art competitions, theater performances, music and video documentaries.
